Tales From Clark Street: 2006–2016

It just took roughly 10 minutes to delete 10 years of my life. I started blogging in October of 2006, and here we are in September, 2016. Why stop now? Why delete all of my old entries? I guess the simple answer is: I want to.

To all of my loyal and wonderful readers, thank you so much for reading, really hearing me when I needed it, and for being a part of my incredible, painful, fun, interesting, maddening, ridiculous, spectacular blogging journey. I've had a fabulous time.

Much love always,
Blondie Blonderson

I know that it is your life, but this is like a book with no ending. :O( In reading your life, I have come to care about you. Weird, huh?
I hope that you are well. I think about you often and pray you've found some peace, or better yet some real happiness. I hope you are still working on minis - Tiny Tow is still my all time favorite!
If you ever decide to blog again, I'll be there reading your honest and beautiful words and admiring your bravery. You're an incredible person, Blondie! I am glad to have known you in some small way.

I have to agree with Jodi's sentiment. I may not comment on every post but I care about you and love to read your blog. You've made me think and laugh and weep over the years. I wish you much love and happiness for the future. You will be missed =0(

I am a newer reader. So sorry you deleted your posts. I couldn't do that - they are a journal of my life.

Thank you for the wonderful thoughts and words. This decision has been bittersweet. Just to assure everyone: Nothing bad happened that made me want to delete my blog, I swear. I'm just ready to be more private/be more open with my real identity. It's a true Catch-22. I'm still here, still moving forward with life, still mini-ing and creating and flapping my little butterfly wings as hard as I can. ;) Who knows where they will lead me? XXOO

Oh and rest assured: I exported my entire blog to a PDF file. So Clark Street lives on...

I will sorely miss your posts and your unique spin on life. I check it frequently. I've learned a lot from your blog, cried with your losses, celebrated with your successes, prayed for your down times, and laughed with your grand times. Be well and mini on. Come back when you able. Hugs.

I'm so glad you saved it for you! It's good to go back and see how much we've grown!
I'm keeping you on my blog roll just in case... If you decide to just start a mini blog or share your super secret identity, please post the link on Clark Street so we'll know! You are still so interesting and smart, and I've read so many books because of you! Please stay in touch!

Thank you for showing so much of your life to us. I am grateful that you shared the both highs and lows. Although we've not met personally, I know your sister and have enjoyed following both of your blogs for the past 6+ years. Wishing you all the best, now and always!
P.S. I so loved hearing about your furbabies, as well. I would love to hear one last pet update, especially on Webster.

Webster is a sweet old man who has "pooping in funny places" problems every few days, which the vet attributes to arthritis/age/cataracts. His arthritis medicine is helping his joints, so he's definitely more perky than he was before he started taking it. I'm hoping to have a few more years with him. *crosses fingers*

Gretchen is ruthlessly killing any bug that dares to enter Briarpatch and is snuggling under the guest bed quilt as often as possible.

And despite all odds, Alice -- perhaps the oldest pet store mouse ever to grace this planet -- is STILL alive, still scratching her eyeball, and still running as fast as she can on the wheel everyday.

The pets of Clark Street send their love to all. XXOO :) :) :)

Thanks for the update, Blondie! Sweet Webster, it's rough being a senior citizen! And wow, Alice is amazing!! So glad you have a resident bug eater in Gretchen, what a good helper! And wishing you lots of happiness always!

Awwww...Miss Blondie Blonderson. I'm glad to hear that there isn't anything specific that happened to make you stop blogging. I don't always post comments, but I've enjoyed reading your blog. I've grown to really care about you and reading about your ups and downs also helps me reflect on things as well. It was awesome to actually meet you in Chicago. You are just as dynamic in person as you are on this blog. I'm glad you saved it somewhere. I'll still be here if you do decide to blog again. Keep on mini-ing and writing! I'll miss you!

Dear Blondie,
It’s been fun reading all your interesting posts, be they funny, charming or bittersweet. I admired that you were always so totally honest about your feelings and your interactions with family. I’m really gonna miss your tales about the ups and downs of life in the Heartland. Much love to you.

Blondie,
I found you long ago when you "confessed" your "love" of Mike of American Pickers. I enjoyed your writing and kept reading. We are sort of neighbors, you being in Iowa and me in Neb. I've prayed for you through ups and downs. Was awed by your bravery when you brought home Mice! as pets. I enjoyed reading about your homes and the kitties and your relationship with your parents and sister. I loved reading about your creative side.
I will miss your words, but will pray for you when I log onto my blog reader and you are not there. :)
Blessings,
Kay in NE

Dear Blondie,

I started reading your blog back in 2007. I found your blog through your Orchid posts, and followed you ever since.

So sad to see this ending :(.

Best wishes,

Cam :-)

I'm more than a little mortified that you wrote this months and months ago and I'm just now seeing it...! (It has been an extraordinarily busy time in my life, but still...)

All the best to you, dear Blondie. I hope you're well and I'll miss reading your wonderful writing.

xoxo
Terry

I often wonder how you are and what you're doing. I found your blog through a friend...wayyyyyyy back- about a year after you started. I loved your writing and honesty. I comments just a few times and you always replied. Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope life and YOU are treating you well.
